Good spot! - Rating 5/5
What we enjoyed:- Phil is great and added in some nice bonuses upon meeting our family and seeing our needs.- clean- the bed situation was perfect for our family of three (one king and one twin)- reasonably priced. We didn't need a lot of frills as we were gone most of the day.- close enough that the parents could take turns enjoying a solo walk to or from townWhat we would change:- it will help when the bridge returns and the walk to town is off of the main roads. We would have preferred to park the car in the evenings and just walk to and from town for dinners. The walk was just a little too long for that.- Phil is in the process of refurbishing the old dining area into another room (which will be beautiful!). It will be good if there could be access to things like bowls, utensils, a microwave, etc for eating cereal or heating take away food.

Good peaceful location & nice room. - Rating 5/5
I like the location of this B&B as it's a short walk out of Betwys-Y-Coed & as such is nice and peaceful but still with easy enough access to all the facilities in the town.

Very Pleasant Stay - Rating 4/5
Maes Y Garth is set up on a hill with lovely views of the surrounding area. It is a ‘room only’ set up, situated just outside the pretty town Betws Y Coed where you will find shops and eateries. It is approx 20 min walk into the town. There is a ‘short cut’ across the river, however the footpath (bridge) is currently closed for repairs. The Guesthouse itself is very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated with tea/coffee facilities in your room (fresh milk stored in a fridge just outside the rooms).Phil the owner is very helpful/attentive to all your needs. There is a tv and hairdryer in every room and toiletries provided.I was on a weekend break with my husband and two kids (young adults) and we all had a very pleasant stay.I booked last minute so had the rooms at the back, if you book early the rooms at the front have the better views.

Room was clean , comfortable and spacious with en-suite. We were in room 5 which was advertised with patio and view over valley but view was mostly over the car park and some trees . If you want an actual view book a room on top floor with balcony.Easy process for arrival and departure and plenty of parking .

Quiet location, with great views. The room itself was spacious, comfortable and clean. Will certainly contact Maes y Garth again about availability when back in the area.

The stay at Maes-y-Garth guest house was very enjoyable. The rooms were all clean and tidy and very nicely decorated. The outside area of lawn and driveway was also well kept. Also being slightly back off the road made it feel very secluded and safe. We would certainly recommend this guest house to family and friends and we have already decided to go back in the summer months for another visit

Amazing. Amazing. Amazing!!! - Rating 5/5
First time here but won't be my last! Immaculately clean throughout. Beds comfy and room ascetically decorated. Room even had a desk and two comfy chairs. Very spacious room with balcony and spectacular views. When going away, I always go prepared with hot water bottles and extra blankets given most B&Bs are cold but was pleasantly surprised the building was warm throughout and Phil even phoned to check we were warm enough and told me to call if there were any problems. There were none. The dear man even provided fresh milk in the fridge. It is room only but we were happy with that and actually preferred it as it took away that pressure in the mornings. Thanks Phil for your understanding as regards the change of dates too. Much appreciated. You are a star! As I said, we will be back!

Big room with balcony and a great view - Rating 5/5
We booked one of the first floor rooms with a balcony and a view of the valley, which was amazing! Check in was super smooth, room was big, clean and light with a fantastic view over The Valley from the balcony. There is a shortcut to the town over a bridge that is technically closed but we used it anyway and it was fine, though I guess you are doing it at your own risk. Phil was great on the communication and even let us check in early so that was a bonus too. Would definitely stay again!

A room with a (best) view! - Rating 5/5
We returned to Betws after some years and really enjoyed our stay. There is no breakfast provided now and you pick up your key from a key safe, however we really didn’t mind this at all. In fact, it gave us more freedom in the morning and the Alpine Cafe at the village treats you to a wide selection of coffees, teas, hearty breakfast / brunch options. The room we stayed is at the front and has an amazing view.Clean and had the basics in terms of hospitality tray.(If you use body cream and conditioner, take your own, I personally didn’t mind as it is a much greener option)We met the current owner and can testify about his passion for the beauty of the area and the local community. He dealt promptly with a problem the boiler had on a Saturday to ensure that our stay was as comfortable as possible and his staff ensured great communication throughout.Thank you, we will return!

We stayed here 3rd-5th of December, what a wonderful welcome as we opened the door and it was so warm, and it stayed like that throughout our stay. We went up to our room and was overjoyed with our beautiful spacious rooms, and the view was breathtaking. Every convenience was afforded us. Big spacious bathroom with a great shower. Tea /Coffee making facilities which were readily replenished. The bed was so comfortable it was hard to drag myself out of a morning but I did to sit & enjoy my cup of tea on the veranda enjoyed the peace & tranquility. Betws-Y-Coed is such an idyllic place and we’re definitely going to book to stay here again.

Phil offers a wonderful B&B in the lovely community of Betws-y-coed. Contactless check-in (key left in a lock box in which you are given the code). Room was clean and very spacious with a queen (double?) bed and single bed. Lovely kitchen area if you’d like to make your own meal and a deck overlooking the valley. Hot pot, cups and tea available in your room, which we enjoyed. Location is fantastic - just a short walking distance into the village, which we LOVED!!! If you want, Phil offers breakfast at a local cafe. Great idea to support local business and the food was fantastic. A must see place to stay and village to visit.

A Place that Met Our Needs - Rating 4/5
There were positives and a couple inconveniences with our several-day stay. The town has a number of good restaurants, shops and hiking trails. Our host at the B&B was friendly, available and did everything he could to make our stay enjoyable. The room was small, but comfortable and clean. There was access to a common kitchen with a fridge and stocked well with cutlery, plates, mugs and bowls. Although it should be conveniently located to town by way of a footpath with a small suspension bridge, unfortunately, that bridge is currently being repaired. That makes for a longer, mile-long walk along the roadway - not a problem with a car. We also had some trouble setting up payment from the US since credit card option was not available at the time of our visit.

Our stay at Maes y Garth was just what we needed with communication from Tracey and Stefan providing assurance of a safe stay within Covid guidelines. Our room was spacious, immaculately clean and smelt lovely and fresh. The bed was really comfy, which was a blessing afterbusy days of walking and the ensuite was light and bright. The B and B is in a quiet location with fantastic views and we had the added bonus of watching a squirrel in the garden before eating breakfast.Tracey and Stefan were friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable about the area and this made them the perfect hosts. Beautiful place and great hosts - Rating 5/5
We just returned after spending three lovely nights at Maes-Y-Garth - a charming B&B in the beautiful town of Betws-Y-Coed. I am so glad that we chose this place based on all the positive reviews from previous visitors. It had lots of things going for it. (1) Great location -- Snowdonia, Llandudno, Conwy, Anglesey, Caernarfon, Llanbris.. were so all very accessible from MYG. the place was just a 10 min stroll through a farm and over a bridge and train station to get to the town center of Betws-Y-Coed and a variety of restaurants. (2) Well appointed room with an eye for detail -- queen/king sized bed, heated towel rack, small table fan for that occasional warm night, tea/coffee and cookie tray that was replenished every day, excellent Wifi. Our room opened out to a nice big sit-out where one could relax, sip a cup of tea and gaze at the surrounding mountains. It was a wonderful feeling to come back after a long day of sightseeing, hiking etc. to a squeaky clean room and ensuite bathroom. (3) Sumptuous breakfast. There was everything and more that one could hope to get from a good English breakfast. And the view from the balcony outside the breakfast area was even more breathtaking. (4) Warm and wonderful hosts - friendly, thoughtful, accommodating and very helpful . Over breakfast, Tracy would manage to find time to chat with each of her guests regarding their plans for the day and made some great suggestions for things to do/see in the area. She was very knowledgeable about the region so it was very helpful to have her whet and tweak our plans for the day. We followed her recommendation to the T and were never disappointed.I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is planning on visiting northern Wales.

From the minute we arrived we knew that we had chosen the best place to stay. A wonderful B&B with a lot to offer, clean and comfortable in beautiful surroundings along with two very welcoming hosts, Tracey and Stefan. So much thought has gone into this B&B and we could not fault it. The breakfasts were delicious and as it was a full house you could tell that the other guests were enjoying their stay as much as we were. Tracey and her knowledge of the area and attractions was so helpful. The walk into Betws-y-Coed along the footpath and across the bridge was a delight. A beautiful village with a lot to offer, good places to eat with an array of shops and stunning scenery. We did not want to leave and there is so much more we could say but go and take a look yourselves. Thank you Tracey and Stefan, we will be coming back!

We had a nice stay at this B&B. The room was lovely and large, with nice views. In between the rain it was great to sit out on the balcony. The only two little things we had problems with was that the wifi kept coming and going and wasn't that strong (but I am not sure if another guest was downloading programmes) and the shower was not very powerful at all. Although it was lovely and hot! It was a lovely clean B&B with a nice short walk into betws - we would stay again.

First class location amd outstanding service - Rating 5/5
This is the second time we have stayed at Maes-y-Garth and once again we were not disappointed. We were four adults on two motorcycles.Booking with Tracey was very simple and wemt without a hitch. The large garage is a bonus to keep motorcycles, bikes etc. safe. They even have a cupboard for wet weather gear, so no need to return to wet clothing..The location is just outside the village, but with a track across to the village, it's only a few minutes walk.TheB&B is spotless and everything you need for your stay.. The views are spectacular and there is no noise to be heard.Breakfast is survived on the first floor and is freshly cooked and provides a hearty start to the day.Tracey and Steffan are first class hosts and are able to provide good advice on places to visit and eat.The B&B is highly recommended and I'm sure we will be visiting again in 2018.It is excellent value for money. Thanks again Tracey and Steffan..

Pleasant B&B With Great Views - Rating 4/5
We stayed here for 2 nights on a tour of the North of England and Wales. We had one of the Superior Rooms which had a larger than normal double bed, tea and coffee with biscuits and a pleasant en-suite shower room.It was possible to walk into Betwys-y-Coed from the B&B although some of the paths were dark at night but LED torches were provided for all guests.

Great stay! - Rating 5/5
Nice bed and breakfast with private parking spaces. The breakfast was delicious with a varied choice of cooked food (eggs, bacon, sausages, tomatoes,...), toasts, jam, cereals and yaourt. The room was comfortable with all necessities and a welcome tray for tea/coffee.From the bed and breakfast it is easy to walk to town (around 8 minutes, small path along the fields and crossing a bridge). There are different choices of restaurants there as well as a few shops (and two small food shops).Tracey & Stefan (the owners) were very welcoming and happy to provide information and answer our questions. The bed and breakfast is very well situated to visit North Wales as most things are around 20-30 min drive. Plenty of choice for things to do (walking in Snowdonia, visiting castles, wandering in Bodnant gardens,...).We had a great time staying at Maes-y-Garth B&B :-)

Happy Holidays - Rating 5/5
We knew before we went that we would be staying in one of the most beautiful areas in Britain but nothing prepared us for the perfect bed and breakfast establishment that we stayed in. Our bedroom was excellent with exceptional views and a seat just outside our French window where we sat with our cups of tea. Breakfast was served upstairs where the views were even better. Our hosts were very friendly and helpful and made an excellent job of serving the delicious breakfasts. We shall certainly go again as Maes-y-Garth had everything we wanted from our holiday.

Wonderful comfort in a charming village - Rating 5/5
We didn't want to leave the comforts of Maes-y-Garth, a modern and delightful B&B in the village of Betws-y-Coed. Tracey and Stefan have created a haven for travelers in a home designed by Clough Williams-Ellis. The short walk to town is utterly charming. Good restaurants abound is this lovely town. Walkers and tourers are spoiled for choice. Wish we could have stayed longer!

Wonderful B&B that makes the ideal base to explore the beautiful north Wales. - Rating 5/5
We found this lovely B&B online and booked via their website. The B&B itself is well maintained, spoltessly clean and has everything you could possiby want from a stay in this area. Its in a great location, slightly out of the village but close enough to go back and forth to enjoy the beautiful Betws Y Coed (less then 10minutes walk). Our room was a double ensuite room facing the garden. It was perfect for our weekend stay, comfy bed, fresh and clean and the bathroom was spotless. The owners Tracy and Stefan could not do enough for you and have cosidered everything you could possivly need to make your stay as pleasant as possible, even suppling torches for the short walk tot he village along with maps and other useful information for those visiting the area. The breakfast was really good, cereals, fruit and yoghurts and cooked breakfasts depending on what you want. I really enjoyed the smoked salmon and scrambled egg, it was a good meal to help prepare me for our climb up Snowdon. There is plenty to see and do within a short drive of the B&B, its location is ideal for exploring north Wales. Snowdon was about 10minutes drive away, again Tracy gave us aome useful tips on parking and ensured we knew how to get there. We thoroigjly enjoyed our stay and love Betws Y Coed and cannnot wait to go back and will definitely stay here again. Cannnot recommend enough for whatever the oirpose of your stay is. Thank you Tracy and Stefan.

Our first visit to north Wales and we were not disappointed. Tracey and Stefan were excellent host throughout our five day stay and the B&B was truly first class. Delicious breakfast cooked every morning and all needs catered for. Tracey and Stefan provided very helpful and useful information regarding places to visit, eat and things to do and considering it's our first visit it was worthwhile. Spacious, clean and comfortable rooms with either garden views or valley views. We will highly recommend a stay at Maes-y-Garth B&B because you are guaranteed a five star stay.

A place to come back ! - Rating 5/5
It was not only the the stunning view to the valley that mades us feel very well in this B&B. It was the combination of the hotel like room incuding professional service and the warm and very personal welcome provided the owners Tracey and Stefan. They serve a great, tasty breakfast, care about details and always have good advices for activies around this wonderful place. Beside that the B&B is a perfect starting point for having a short walk into the village Betws-y-Coed or hikes around the Snowdonian landscape. The only thing to complain about ... The time we could spend there was much too short. So we have to come back ! :-)

Small quiet, but highly recommend- Rating 5/5
We booked at Maes Y Garth for a motorcycle weekend in June 2016. There were four of us on two motorcycles. We found the B&B via recommendation on a Biker Forum website. The venue is set just outside the main village of Betws-y-coed on the A470, but there is a short cut walk to the village. On arrival we were met by Tracey and checking in was simple. We even had the luxury of putting the bikes in the garage. The rooms are well appointed and nothing is too much trouble for Tracey and Steffan. They were able to recommend places to eat in village and even some of the places around N Wales which were good places for motorcycles. It is a small B&B so there are only 5 rooms. The place is quiet and the beds are extremely comfortable after a long days ride. There is no noise or light pollution !! (save for the odd Baaaa from the sheep in the field)Breakfast is served between 8am - 9am and as you book your breakfast the night before, it all runs seamlessly the next morning.Tracey and Steffan are perfect hosts and you are left with no worries about the accommodation. If only they could control the weather too (it rained - hard !!)The B&B is top value for money, so don't just believe me... book in and see for yourself. ( maybe don't - as we might not have a vacancy when we return)

Tracy was very friendly and Stefan was just a really nice, down-to-earth bloke. The breakfast was…well perfect again. My wife was especially enamoured with the perfectly (yes, that word again!) cooked scrambled eggs.We crammed in an action-packed few days and it was always delightful to come back to our ‘home’ and re-charge for the following day. The gem of Betws-y-Coed. - Rating 5/5
Our stay at the Maes-y-Garth B&B was a delightful short break from the strains of working/studying life. As a first time trip to Wales, I was overwhelmed with the abundance of activities to do. The Maes-y-Garth seems to be located some what close to all of these activities which in itself is reason to stay. But not only for that, the Maes-y-Garth was the perfect place to call home for a few days. Tracey and Stefan are the owners and are both such pleasent and delightful people. Throughout our stay they were helpful with things to do and see with recommendations of places to eat which were excellent. The room itself was very comforting with all the necessary furnishings needed. The breakfast was cooked fresh and to perfection with more than enough choice.Safe to say we enjoyed our stay so much that we are already planning to come back and we will definitely be booking up at the Maes-y-Garth.

Another fabulous stay at Maes-y-Garth - Rating 5/5
We have just returned from another fabulous 2 night stay at Maes-y-Garth, Betws-y Coed in Snowdonia.Having stayed in July 2014, we had no hesitation in booking again.Maes-y-Garth is a beautiful property, 10 minutes walk from the centre of Betsw-y Coed. For anybody visiting the nothern parts of the Snowdonia National Park for outdoor activities, it is a luxuryious place to stay and is of a far higher standard to most hotels, bed and breakfast and guest house establishments in the surrounding area.If you’re into hill walking, Moel Siabod in Capel Currig is about a 15 minute drive from Maes-y-Garth, Pen-Y-Pass at the foot of Snowdon is about 25 minutes, as is Tryfan and the Ogwen Valley, further along the main A5 which connects England to North West Wales and runs through Betws-y Coed. If you are isiting the area to do Zip World in the slate quarry at Bethesda, this is about 35 minutes from Maes-y-Garth.Tracey and Stefan own and run Maes-y-Garth and have clearly invested a great deal into their guest house business – the property itself and the standard of decoration, furnishing and cleanliness, not to mention their warm welcome and lovely cooked-to-order breakfast are truly something to look forward to and enjoy.Having had two perfect 2 night stays in the last 12 months, we would have no hesitation in recommending Maes-y-Garth and will definitely be returning, hopefully in the not too distant future.Book Maes-y-Garth with 100% confidence – you will not be disappointed.

My partner and I stayed at Maes-Y-Garth on Sunday and Monday Night 27th and 28th of July 2014. Due to commitments we arrived late to be greeted by a smiling Tracy who although we had dragged her away from her own evening meal, took time out to both welcome us and explain the local geography and best restaurants in the area. After such a warm welcome we were delighted to find the room we had booked was tastefully decorated spotless and larger than most we have stayed in. Breakfast was a lovely experience and set us up for a day of sightseeing in Snowdonia and surrounding areas. If you are looking for a perfect place to stay then look no further. This is it.

Perfection! - Rating 5/5
We stayed at Maes y Garth for three nights in late May. Having read glowing reports, we knew what to expect, but the reality actually exceeded our expectations. It was magnificent, and Tracey and Stefan are to be complimented on achieving such a high standard. Diolch yn fawr

Lovely - Rating 5/5
Maes-y-Garth B&B was absolutely lovely. It's a short, pleasant, and safe walk into Betws-y-Coed where there are shops, restaurants, and walking paths so the location was very convenient.Even though this was a B&B we felt as if we were in a 5-star hotel as the rooms were serviced daily with fresh towels and supplies. As we'd never been to North Wales before we weren't sure what there would be to do but between going into the town and surrounding sites there was plenty for our four-day visit. We visited castles all within 30-40 minute drive and crossed over the pass to Snowdon more than once as it was so beautiful. We were served a hot breakfast of our choosing each morning and the owners were accommodating, friendly, and helpful in giving us suggestions on what to do in the area.Guaranteed you will be well taken care of here!
