Would I stay again? - you betcha!!!
We have stayed in many B&B'S across Great Britain but Maes-Y-Garth is the best we have stayed in. The atmosphere is friendly, welcoming and relaxed. The food is great, the rooms are great and the room prices are very competative.
I can't praise the place enough, we had a wonderful time. Betws-y-coed itself is a lovely friendly village with plenty of eating places to suit all pockets. Whether you want to just chill in the village or use as a base to travel the beautiful countryside Maes-Y-Garth and Betws-y-coed are the perfect place for your holiday. We WILL be back!!!! Maes-y-Garth is a lovely warm and welcoming B&B in Snowdonia, North Wales, run by Steve and Rose Dolan. The Welsh breakfast is fantastic (You won't want to eat for the rest of the day.) With private parking, drying facilities, and beautiful surroundings and an easy walk into the village of Betws-y-Coed all add up to make this a really delightful place to stay.

Booking: Telephone Rose or Steve directly to book your stay (book early to avoid disappointment!)
Arrival: I was met at the door by Rose and shown to my room
Parking: Maes-y-Garth has a large private car park for residents and a lockable garage for bikes / motor bikes - no parking on the road required.
Room: This was the bit I hoped would exceed my expectations - Maes-y-Garth did not let me down.
Absolutely first class accommodation in a quiet picturesque spot - everything in my room was clean and looked brand new - and it's the little attention to details that set this place apart from the herd.
I had an on suite bathroom and shower with loads of clean towels supplied. Shampoo, soap, etc. all present - I was squeaky clean.
The bed was very comfortable, with a nice sized LCD TV on the wall for checking the weather forecast!
A large wardrobe stood proudly in the corner with ample coat hangers lined up like soldiers on parade and an extra blanket was present for guests who feel the cold. It looked unused as the excellent duvet was more than up to the job. Toasty.
In the draw next to the bed was a hair-dryer and a digital clock was also in attendance - superb. Even the instruction manuals for all the gear was in one of the drawers. Thoughtful.
There was also a tea/coffee making set complete with biscuits and a tempting chocolate treat magically appeared next to my bed each day. Yum.
Food: The breakfast pièce de résistance: 2 sausages, 2 rashers of really thick bacon (not that thin supermarket rubber rubbish) a fried egg, tasty baked beans, excellent mushrooms, hash brown, a fried tomato served on a hot plate (I like hot food on a hot plate - another nice touch).
But that's not all - tons of toast (brown and white) were available complete with jam and marmalade. Cereal, grape fruit segments and prunes were also in plentiful supply as was the excellent tea (plain, Earl Grey or herbal) brewed on demand by Rose.
I was there for a hill walking holiday and spent the first few hours waddling up the local mountains clutching my stomach and mumbling
"God I'm full" after the hearty breakfast. Marvellous.
Other bits and pieces: There is a large communal room with TV, Hi-Fi, DVD player etc furnished with the largest leather sofa in Wales. Comfy.
After a day in the hills, my companions and I had the wettest and smelliest boots on the planet, which Rose helped us dry out in the boiler room. This place is hill-walker and biker friendly. Nice.
Maes-y-Garth is 5 mins walk from the town of Betws-y-Coed where you can get excellent evening meals in any of the many hotels and pubs. Scrummy.
Would I stay again? - you betcha!!!
Finally - I am not affiliated with Maes-y-Garth in any way, other than a satisfied and impressed customer.
